Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi honored the winners of the National University Championship for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications.

During the ceremony, Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi emphasized that the value of university competitions lies in giving knowledge a practical dimension and encouraging students to adopt a systematic approach to problem-solving. 

His Excellency said that engaging with artificial intelligence and robotic systems is no longer merely a niche academic choice; rather, it has become integral to the future of diverse sectors, including the economy, industry, healthcare, education, and services.

Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi added that when university education is coupled with experimentation and practice, it generates knowledge capable of being transformed into solutions and applications that serve humanity and society. 

His Excellency highlighted that the championship served as a scientific forum where ideas met challenges and theory met practice, placing upon students the responsibility of designing their projects, testing their feasibility, and defending their results.

Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi underscored the vital role of universities in building a scientific foundation capable of embracing these transformations and shifting from consumption to production and development. 

His Excellency reviewed that the Ministry is moving to expand the presence of technical applications within the university environment, align scientific activity with societal needs, and create opportunities for projects to transition from the laboratory to real-world application.

Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi congratulated the teams and students who achieved top rankings, commending the models and experiments presented by the participants, as well as the efforts of the professors, supervisors, and the scientific and organizing committees responsible for preparing and managing the championship.

His Excellency emphasized that Iraqi universities possess a wealth of academic expertise deserving of greater opportunities to showcase their capabilities and compete effectively. 

Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi continued by saying that the Ministry remains committed to supporting these endeavors, thereby reinforcing the university's role as an institution dedicated to knowledge creation, talent development, and meeting future demands.

His Excellency inaugurated the "Promising Projects" exhibition held alongside the championship events, as well as touring various prototypes in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence applications, listening to students explain the concepts, operational mechanisms, and potential for further development and deployment of these projects to address societal needs and provide practical solutions to existing challenges.

Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi honored the top-ranking teams and students, as well as underscoring the importance of continuing to develop their projects, transforming them into applications and initiatives that contribute practical solutions for the benefit of society.

The closing ceremony featured the screening of two documentary films: the first chronicled the championship’s preparation, the competitions themselves, and the participation of universities and students; the second highlighted examples of participating projects in robotics and AI, showcasing ideas and applications with potential for future development and implementation.
