During a meeting with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Iraq, Mr. Tsui Wei and his accompanying delegation, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib reviewed the joint Iraqi-Chinese Technical University project and ways to benefit from it at the scientific level, knowledge investment, strengthen academic relations and intertwine experiments related to renewable energy technologies. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib stressed the Ministry and its universities’ readiness  on cooperating in the academic fields and coordinating on the axes of cultural exchange. His Excellency said that Iraq is interesting in developing bilateral relations with China and quoting indicators of success in the Chinese experience in developing the development environment. comprehensive. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib expressed the Ministry’s keenness on renewing the cultural cooperation agreement between the two countries and resuming the executive program in light of the approved contexts on both sides. His Excellency highlighted Iraqi universities’ willingness to offer and exchange fellowships and scholarships with the Chinese side. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib also reviewed the file of Iraqi students in the People's Republic of China, facilitating the procedures for granting entry visas to them and enabling some of them to resume studying in specialized Chinese universities, as well as reviewing the coordination aspects regarding the opening of the Chinese pavilion at the University of Baghdad. For his part, Mr. Wei said that China and Iraq have a long civilized heritage that paves the way for further partnership and cooperation in all fields, especially the scientific and cultural fields. Mr. Wei added that exchanging of fellowships and scholarships for students from both sides will contribute to strengthen the communication of the two peoples over the coming generations. He appreciated the response, the seriousness of the Iraqi government institutions in establishing rapprochement and achieving results that serve the two countries. It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by the Director-General of Scholarships and Cultural Relations.
