During a meeting with the Australian Ambassador to Baghdad, Dr. Joanne Loundes, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Qusay Al-Suhail reviewed developing bilateral relations in the higher education sector, especially on increasing scholarships in Australian universities for Iraqi students. Dr. Al-Suhail highlighted enhancing research fields between the two sides, such as conducting joint scientific research and other scientific activities between the universities of the two countries, such as conferences, symposiums and others academic activities. His Excellency also reviewed the need for academic twinning between sober Australian universities and Iraqi universities as well as developing the agricultural research sector. For her part, Dr. Loundes expressed her country's readiness on admitting Iraqi students and researchers in the agricultural, water resources and energy research specialties. Dr. Loundes reviewed that Australia is keen on increasing scholarships to Iraq in the mentioned specialties and in other fields of the edges of science.
