His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi honored the students who won the third edition of the Higher Education Reading Award for the year 2025.

Dr. Al-Aboudi emphasized that the Ministry of Higher Education's adoption of these inspiring initiatives aligns with its vision of promoting a culture of reading, disseminating productive awareness, and empowering students to engage positively with knowledge, moving beyond mere reception to the realms of analysis and critique. 

His Excellency said that unconventional reading is one of the most important avenues for stimulating students' intellectual abilities and enhancing their capacity to face challenges and formulate solutions and stances that cultivate a conscious university personality.

Dr. Al-Aboudi reviewed that the Higher Education Reading Award is an extension of the trajectory of the Iraqi academic movement, through which universities have demonstrated a strong presence and impact in global rankings and leaving a positive mark in the field of rigorous scientific work.

His Excellency concluded the celebration by taking documentary photos with the winning students and members of the organizing Ministerial Committee, appreciating their efforts in preparation and organization and congratulating all participants on their interaction in these creative spaces. 

It’s worth mentioning that the ceremony witnessed delivering a speech by the Ministry’s Advisor, Dr. Alaa Abd Al-Hassan and displaying a documentary film about the award.

It’s a significant to mention that the ceremony was attended by senior faculty members, the head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, presidents of Iraqi universities and deans of colleges.
