During the meetings of the forty-sixth session Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils and hosted by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research at the University of Baghdad, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi welcomed the hosting of the work of the forty-sixth session of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, whose experts and representatives of member states are working to review and support the executive map of the Federation's work, raise the level of scientific research and stimulate the environment of joint work according to the goals and mission of academic institutions with influence in their Arab, regional and global surroundings.

Dr. Al-Aboudi said that the opening activities included delivering official speeches by the Secretary-General of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, Dr. Abdul Majeed Benamara, the President of the forty-fifth session, and the representative of the Association of Arab Universities and the League of Arab States and a lecture on indicators of science, technology and innovation in the Arab world.

His Excellency added that the challenges facing scientific research in our Arab world require working in a team spirit and a unified strategic vision, stressing that the excellence of Arab universities and institutions in producing scientific research makes them worthy of occupying positions referred to in global containers and solid platforms.

Dr. Al-Aboudi called for launching the Arab Scientific Research Award and studying and adopting the proposal by the General Secretariat of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils and adding it to the approved awards with the aim of motivating the Arab researcher and forming a joint committee to organize the procedures and arrange the financial awards allocated for this purpose.

His Excellency honored the representatives of scientific research associations and the representative of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, Dr. Abdul Majeed Benamara honored His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi as appreciation of his role in hosting the meetings of the forty-sixth session.
