Mosul University’s Master’s Dissertation: On Geographical Analysis of Mineral Resources Map in Iraq

College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Mosul discussed a master dissertation on the geographical analysis of the mineral resources map in Iraq by the postgraduate student, Mr. Haitham Ayad Seddeek. The dissertation reviewed the reality of the spatial distribution of mineral resources in Iraq and the role of the natural factors that contribute to their distribution through its geographical map. The dissertation highlighted that the analysis of the mineral resources map, which is concerned with identifying the areas of mineral wealth and helps in finding the rock formations that are likely to contain ores and mineral deposits. The dissertation demonstrated the relation between the quality of minerals and the geological structures, as it is noted that metallic minerals spread in the northern regions, while they are found in the areas of the western sidewalk in central and southern Iraq, minerals of sedimentary non-metallic origin.
