A joint research team from the Universities of Al-Mustansiriyah and Al-Qadisiyah conducted a joint study on enhancing the turbidity removal from industrial wastewater by the rapid mixing of the hydraulic hop. The joint study aimed at investigating the performance of mixing the hydraulic jump in removing turbidity from industrial wastewater, which depends on mixing clotting materials with raw water immediately before water flow into the flocculation tank. The joint study reviewed using a physical model to simulate the characteristics of a hydraulic jump, investigating the effects of alum dose, pH, initial turbidity, FROD number, rapid gradient, and the intensity and mixing time of clearing turbidity, as well as comparing it with mechanical mixing with a jar test device. It is worth mentioning that the joint team was represented by the faculty member in Al-Mustansiriyah University, Dr. Ahmed Hassoun Ali and the faculty members in University of Al-Qadisiyah, Dr. Thulfiqar Razaq Al-Husseini and Dr. Ali Hadi Ghawi, as well as the joint study was published in Clarivate and Scopus.
