The College of Education for Pure Sciences, Samarra University discussed a master dissertation on the use of different analytical methods in the estimation of certain non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in their pure forms and pharmaceutical preparations by the postgraduate student, Mr. Nimir Falah Hassan.

The dissertation aimed at developing new analytical methods for the estimation of ibuprofen and paracetamol using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for the simultaneous estimation of the two drugs, the formation of an oxidative coupling complex and the formation of a charge-transfer complex.

The dissertation demonstrated the effectiveness of the BDC reagent, extracted from natural sources, as an environmentally friendly alternative for the estimation of paracetamol and the developed chromatographic method also proved successful in the simultaneous separation and estimation of both paracetamol and ibuprofen.
