University of Babylon discussed a Ph.D. thesis on the effectiveness of a behavioral therapy program for children with autism spectrum disorders by the postgraduate student, Mr. Dhafer Amin Jabbar.
The thesis reviewed that behavioral therapy is an intervention program for a child with autism to improve desired behaviors and reduce undesirable behaviors through behavior modification strategies based on the principles of analytical behavioral therapy.
The thesis reviewed evaluating the success of the behavioral therapy program in treating a child who suffers from behavioral problems related to autism. The study sample consisted of (40) children with autism, and the children with autism were selected through a “non-probability” (purposive) sample.
The thesis aimed at using a quasi-experimental study design that was implemented via applying a test-retest approach, which consists of three evaluations (a pre-program test, two post-program tests, the first post-test and the second post-test for both the study and control groups.
