Technical College- Al-Musayyib, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University discussed a master dissertation on the effect of adding the chemical fertilizer NPK on some characteristics of the leaves and fruits of the date palm, Zuhdi variety by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Raghad Saad Youssef.
The dissertation aimed at determining the extent of the response of date palms of the Zuhdi variety to the best concentration of chemical fertilization and its impact on chemical, qualitative and yield characteristics, identifying the best date to add it and reviewing the effect of the double and triple interaction between the experiment factors.
The dissertation emphasized that the combination of NPK chemical fertilizer and its concentration has an important role in increasing all the quantitative and qualitative traits. Increasing the yield quantity, the concentration is (500-500-750) NPK. It also has a significant effect on most of the quantitative and qualitative traits and the quantity of the yield, as well as the date of adding fertilizer has a significant impact in increasing most quantitative and qualitative traits.
The dissertation recommended the need to add chemical fertilizer concentration (500-500-750) NPK to obtain an increase in the characteristics of the yield, quantity and quality, adding it at a distance of (200) cm from the circumference of the trunk of the palm tree and conducting more studies on the use of different concentrations of chemical fertilizers to determine the appropriate concentration to the response of date palm trees to different cultivars with different dates, dimensions and depths.
