His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi chaired a meeting of the Advisory Council to review a range of decisions and procedures related to university affairs under Article Six of the Law of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Dr. Al-Aboudi said that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research gave the necessary impetus to the diversity of specializations and fields and the integration of academic programs and was keen on providing the elements of success in all its institutions.

His Excellency highlighted that the Ministry had taken a decision to establish a model college for distinguished students starting from the next academic year and is currently studying a project to send talented students to international universities in various specializations required by the requirements of development in Iraq.

For their part, the attendees reviewed the Ministry's steps to lay the foundation stone for the Central Laboratories Project for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and a number of proposals that highlighted the importance of technical education and the development of undergraduate and graduate programs, research and training centers in universities, the quality of scientific research and global ranking indicators.
