Al-Iraqia University’s Master's Dissertation: On Physiological & Immunological Evaluation of Vitamins Role

The master's dissertation was discussed in the College of Education, Al-Iraqia University on physiological and immunological evaluation of the role of vitamin B12, extracts of green tea and pomegranate pulp in albino rats induced by phenylhydrazine-induced anemia by the student, Mr. Muntazer Muhammad Alwan from the Department of Biology. The dissertation aimed at detecting the active ingredients present in green tea extracts and pomegranate pulp via using modern detection techniques such as HPLC and other modern detection methods. The dissertation reviewed the effect of treatment with these extracts on some blood and biochemical parameters in albino rats suffering from anemia induced by phenylhydrazine. The dissertation concluded that the clear positive effect of the plant extracts that were used in the treatment of hemolytic anemia via raising the levels of antioxidants in the body and reducing the levels of harmful oxidants, due to the fact that the extracts used contain high levels of vitamins and active substances important in treating anemia and combating oxidative stress resulting from injection with phenylhydrazine.
