The dissertation aimed at clarifying the problem of bacterial resistance
to antibiotics, focusing on Proteus mirabilis, which is one of the main causes
of infections in hospitals and poses an increasing challenge in the health
field due to its increasing resistance to drugs.
The dissertation stressed the need to monitor the development of
bacterial resistance to antibiotics.
The dissertation reviewed that 20% of the isolates were multiple drug
resistance (XDR), with complete resistance to some antibiotics such as
gentamicin and tigecycline, while they showed sensitivity to ertapenem genetic
tests also showed the prevalence of the aac(6’)-Ib gene in all isolates and
when the plasmids were neutralized, the resistance rate decreased by 50%.
