College of Engineering, University of Diyala discussed a master dissertation on theoretical and experimental investigations to monitor the health of composite panels using dynamic analysis by the postgraduate student, Mr. Muhammad Jabbar Abbas.
The dissertation aimed at designing a vibration technology to test the integrity of a composite panel via measuring changes in natural frequencies.
The dissertation reviewed using of the ANSYS program to calculate changes in natural frequencies in determining the location of the damage based on the measured changes in natural frequencies and the test was conducted on the panel with and without the defect.
The dissertation concluded that composite panels, if exposed to any type of crack, reduce the natural frequency values, as any damage to the material changes the durability values and thus the frequency value also decreases.
