College of Engineering, University of Diyala held a symposium on plasma antenna technology.
The symposium, in which a number of specialists participated, included delivering a lecture on the types of antennas used to send and receive radio waves and materials from which these antennas are manufactured which are produced from special wires in specific forms besides some of these antennas are made from conductive metal on an insulating layer.
The symposium reviewed the work of the plasma antenna compared to other antennas, in which operates at very high frequencies, it consists of an ionized gas (helium, neon and argon) that is placed inside a glass tube and uses radio frequencies to ionize the gases and their radiation therefor it is better than normal antennas for their small size and high frequency.
The symposium also reviewed the importance of these antennas to be used in the techniques of concealment, non-detection of radars and its importance in military and security implementations which need to send data and information in a high secure manner.
