During a meeting with the envoy of South Korean President, Mr. Han Pyeong-Mo, the Korean Ambassador to Iraq, the Korean Foreign Minister's Deputy and economic and cultural figures, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Qusay Al-Suhail applauded the South Korean traces in the aspects of civil development, construction and capacity development in Iraq and His Excellency praised the bilateral relations that can be developed between the two countries, especially in the educational institution.
Dr. Al-Suhail reviewed the importance of preparing senior leadership staffs of the Ministry via academic exchanging with the developed countries and developing the capabilities of researchers to be enhanced in cooperation with South Korea in the field of liver transplantation which the laboratories and hospitals of South Korea considered the best in this field, especially in the rare medical specialties.
His Excellency expressed Iraq's keenness to grant the Korean side scholarships for students and researchers in the fields of humanitarian studies, especially in archeology, heritage, Arabic Language and history.
For his part, Mr. Pyeong-Mo expressed the Korean side's readiness to develop the agreement according to a legal framework that documents the exchange agreement and the academic relations between the two sides.
Mr. Pyeong-Mo praised the experience of Iraq after the wars and conflicts against terrorists towards the horizons of scientific research, developing its staffs and participating in educational, economic and medical cooperation with Iraq.
