The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on that forty-five Iraqi universities obtained top score in the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2024 for the best universities ranked in the Arab region.

Higher Education reviewed that the 238 institutions from 16 countries competed according to the indicators distributed in the fields of (Teaching 31%), (Research environment 31%), (Outputs Research quality 24%), (International outlook 8%) and (Society 6%).

Higher Education added that the University of Baghdad topped the score twenty compared to last year's version to be ranked twentieth, followed by the Universities of Technology, Mustansiriya, Mosul, Al-Nahrain, Anbar, Babylon, Basrah, Al-Maarif, Tikrit, Al-Iraqiya, Al-Mustaqbal, Al-Qadisiyah, Diyala, Karbala, the Islamic University, Al-Ayen, Green Al-Qassim, Thi-Qar, Warith Al-Anbiya, Wasit, Al-Isra, Al-Farahidi, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical, Al-Muthanna, Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq University, Middle Technical, Northern Technical, Southern Technical, Kirkuk, Missan and Universities of the Kurdistan Region.
