Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025 reviewed the results of sustainable development edition.
Higher Education highlighted that nearly 1,800 universities
around the world competed in the ranking

according to a methodology consisting of indicators designed to measure the
institution's ability to impact the environment by 45%, social impact by 44%
and governance by 10%.
Higher Education demonstrated that Eight Iraqi universities
achieved top competitive results in this ranking, headed by the University of
Baghdad and Universities of Anbar, Al-Nahrain, Babylon, Mustansiriyah, Northern
Technical, Tikrit and Mosul.
It is worth to be mentioned that more than a hundred Iraqi
universities and colleges compete with their counterparts in eight global
rankings, which made Iraq rank 29th globally in terms of the number
of universities ranked in the Times World and seventh globally in the Times
Sustainable Development Ranking.
