Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced
that the UI Green Metric ranking of world universities demonstrated the results
of its 2024 edition, in which one thousand four hundred and seventy-seven
universities from ninety-five countries around the world competed.
Higher Education reviewed that the UI Greenmetric is based on main criteria concerned with measuring indicators related to the work environment and infrastructure on the university campus by 15%, energy and climate change by 21%, waste management by 18%, optimal use of water by10%, education and its academic programs and research by18%, and means of transportation and movement within the university campus by 18%.
Higher Education highlighted that the official ranking website
(https://greenmetric.ui.ac.id/rankings/overall-rankings-2024) reviewed that
seventy-eight Iraqi universities obtained positive competitive ranks, as the
University of Babylon achieved the (119) global score, followed by the Anbar,
Al-Mustaqbal, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical, Baghdad, Karbala, Basrah, Al-Kafeel,
Northern Technical, Islamic University, Sumer, Warith Al-Anbiya, Mustansiriyah Universities
and other Iraqi public and private Universities.
