Department of Environment and Water, merged Ministry of Science and Technology conducted a study on establishing a network for continuous monitoring and early detecting of the geotechnical system in the dam of Mosul.
The study included establishing an early controlling and warning system in the geotechnical properties in the dam of Mosul based on modern technology and prediction of events remotely as well as the system is based on monitoring monitors the geotechnical, engineering and climatic variables, water levels in the dam lake and groundwater and analyzing the various variables "observation wells" installed at the dam site which provide an early indication of a load in the dam to avoid or reduce this load.
