College of Science, University of Kufa discussed a master dissertation on the effect of radiation therapy on the concentration of heavy metals in the blood serum of cancer patients by the postgraduate student, Mr. Muqdad Abdul-Hamid Youssef.
The dissertation aimed at searching for the levels of chromium, cadmium and zinc in the blood serum of cancer patients in Najaf, and to compare the levels of these elements during the radiation treatment period, taking into consideration the factors affecting the levels of the three studied elements such as age and gender. and body mass.
The dissertation reviewed that radiation therapy affects the levels of zinc, chromium and cadmium in the serum of patients with cancer during treatment sessions.
