A joint research team from the Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Misan conducted a study on the effect of the placenta previa on the mother and her fetus and revealed the impact of the social and demographic pattern on this medical condition. The joint team reviewed that the placenta previa represents a great risk on the mother and her child, with the possibility of negative results if not treated directly. The joint team recommended forewarning mothers to conduct periodic medial check of the primary health care centers during pregnancy with the need to use the vaginal sonar as an important means in the early diagnosis of the placenta, as well as transferring the patient to a specialized hospital if she suffers from the placenta previa, trying to reduce the cesarean operations, which is one of the reasons for placenta previa, its adhesion and the importance of performing an automated uterine shelf (cortage) to avoid damaging the endometrium.
