College of Science, University of Mosul discussed a Ph.D. thesis on the synthesis and spectral analysis of some heterocyclic compounds derived from Coumarin by the postgraduate student, Mr. Tharei Ghanim Hassan.
The thesis aimed at preparing of a number of heterocyclic compounds (five, hexagonal, seven) derived from Coumarin compounds via using the traditional method and ultrasound waves as a green technique.
The thesis reviewed identifying of the prepared compounds (1-10k) via using the available physical, chemical, laboratory and spectroscopic methods (degree of support, color changes, infrared spectrum, nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum and a number of theoretical calculations).
The thesis concluded how to prepare most of the compounds via using the traditional method and ultrasound and compared the yield ratios between the two techniques.
