College of Science, University of Mustansiriyah discussed a master dissertation on applying of voice translation into sign language via using the Iraqi Deaf Dictionary by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Hawra Atouf Muhammad Saeed.
The dissertation aimed at designing a mobile application that converts spoken words in classical Arabic and the local Iraqi dialect into Iraqi sign language.
The dissertation demonstrated using of the deaf dictionary, which is used by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in schools for the deaf, which relies on the machine learning algorithm.
The dissertation concluded that the proposed method was successful and accurate at a rate of (94%), and that it could be used by deaf families to communicate with their children in the dialect.
