During a meeting with His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, today, Monday, August 23, 2021, President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Barham Salih stressed on the need to protect the sobriety of academic education and the scientific independence of universities, support and expand various scientific and cultural specializations in light of the latest developments, meet the needs of faculty members and students and overcome obstacles and problems in front of them. Dr. Salih added that Iraqi universities have a good reputation in international forums despite the difficulties they faced in previous periods, as well as calling on strengthening cooperation with international universities and benefiting from international experiences in order for Iraqi universities to be in the refineries of their peers in the countries of the world. For his part, Dr. Abid Al-Sahib appreciated the President of the Republic for the directives, reviewing the Ministry's work progress, its future plans and the challenges facing the higher education sector in Iraq.
