In cooperation with the Department of Environment and Water, College of Engineering, Al-Iraqia University organized an online symposium on implementing of eco-friendly techniques for water treatment. The online symposium aimed at achieving integrated cooperation with state departments and institutions to transfer scientific and practical experiences in academic institutions to their counterparts in other institutions. The online symposium reviewed the topic of Phytoremediation of wastewater and soil, which included the research experiences that were conducted in Iraq and abroad. The online symposium highlighted the most prominent regional and global applications in this vital field, which represents a promising horizon for the disposal of organic and inorganic pollutants by many plants available locally, which contributes significantly to reduce the costs required in the establishment of traditional treatment plants, as well as the availability of that treatment from new sources of energy and the possibility of recovering Heavy metals extracted from sewage or soil.
