College of Engineering, University of Al-Mustansiriyah organized a symposium on modern technologies in computing vision. The symposium, in which a number of specialists and faculty members participated, reviewed concept of computing vision and main differences between the computing vision and the natural vision of human beings as well as creating vision systems and applications in various aspects of life. The symposium highlighted the mechanism of employing modern computing vision techniques in various medical and security fields such as identifying of persons and diagnosing of skin cancer as well as obtaining the parameters of the image at different levels of accuracy in a way that the computerized devices can read them to be able to perform the function. The symposium also reviewed ways to benefit from computing vision and image acquisition, comparing computing vision with human vision, semantic fragmentation of facial coverage via using neural networks as well as demonstrating the properties extraction techniques for diagnosing and retrieving of medical images.
