Departments of Geography in the College of Arts, University of Baghdad inaugurated a new Geomorphology, Climate and Soil Laboratory to develop training aspects for students and researchers, Head of the Department, Dr. Ali Abd Al-Ameer said.
Dr. Al-Ameer added that inaugurating the scientific laboratory is to help students to use weather measuring devices in terms of temperature, wind speed, moisture and rain drop and atmospheric pressure.
Dr. Al-Ameer reviewed that the first stage of the inaugurating of the laboratory will allow students to choose soil samples to a depth of (1-5) meters via using the device of Oker and reviewing the measuring device to measure temperature of the surface of the soil via infrared to the depth of (2 – 20).
