In cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, College of Agriculture, University of Basra organized a training course on Western Blotting Technology. The course, in which a number of faculty members participated, aimed at identifying the Western Blooting technology as well as its main applications and uses in diagnosing genetic, cancer and other diseases. The course reviewed two axes, the theoretical axis on the technology, the purpose and the basis of its work and the practical axis on preparing materials, isolating protein from various sources, especially animal tissues, determining the quality and quantity of protein to be added, preparing the gel, pouring samples, shearing gel, conducting the targeted protein transport, detecting the protein and analyzing the results via using Western Blooting technology.
