College of Science, University of Basrah discussed a master dissertation on using of plant extracts as coagulants in managing of polluted water by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Ayat Khaled Salem.
The dissertation reviewed a test of thirteen local plants (green coagulant) used as a better alternative to treat water pollution, which was manufactured in the form of a powder to remove turbidity in the wastewater of the Al-Ashar River in Basra.
The dissertation recommended the application of the laboratory-made green coagulant with the addition of alum in different concentrations.
