College of Education for Anthropology, University of Basrah discussed a master dissertation on the geomorphological characteristics of Al-Aathir valley basin in southern Iraq by the postgraduate student, Mr. Muhammad Adnan Abed Al-Zahra. The dissertation aimed at studying the geomorphological characteristics of Al-Aathir valley basin and the extent to which these characteristics affect the construction of landforms and the geomorphological processes that contributed to its formation. The dissertation concluded that the waterways of Al-Aathir valley basin run from the southwest side within the borders of Saudi lands towards the northeast, which ends in the sedimentary plain lands inside Iraqi lands.
