College of Science, University of Diyala discussed a master dissertation on predictive modeling of road construction costs via using a machine learning approach by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Yasmine Ghadban Abid.
The dissertation aimed at designing a modern method that adopts machine learning techniques to estimate the cost of road construction in the initial phase of the project with high accuracy via benefiting from a data set of real, completed projects that were collected from the Roads and Bridges Department in Diyala Governorate.
The dissertation reviewed proposing a machine learning model capable of predicting road construction costs that collects data and generates road construction datasets through which it is analyzed via using EDA to identify duplicate rows, missing values and outliers, as well as pre-processing and training the model via using four distinct algorithms.
