A master's dissertation was discussed in the College of Law and Political Science, University of Diyala on the International Convention on the Rights of the Child and its implications for Iraqi legislation by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Huda Adnan Saleh. The dissertation reviewed the historical rooting of the rights of the child through ancient times and civilizations, as well as the concept of child rights in most respects. The dissertation concluded that Iraq has not witnessed effective legal texts that protect the child from domestic violence or violence in any other institution. The dissertation recommended the importance of working on the establishment of constitutional institutions concerned with legislating laws in order to help the legislative authority in Iraq to mature bills according to the societal need.
