During a visit and inaugurating of a number of the buildings of the dormitories departments in University of Diyala, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib reviewed that Iraqi universities have faced exceptional challenges and they are able to properly deal to keep pace with rapid scientific development, adapt to changes and academic response to their requirements. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib said that developing and completing the infrastructure in universities is part of the necessities that started from the philosophy of quality in educational institutions, providing the best services at the educational, research and advisory levels and affording an effective environment that capable of implementing academic programs and responsible for stimulating creativity and excellence among faculty members, researchers and students. His Excellency added that the independency of universities and the management of their available resources according to the criterion of priority and importance was an important and main factor in enabling educational institutions to maintain buildings, develop laboratories, research centers, libraries and public academic facilities and respond to the requirements of improving university performance. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib highlighted that the planning that characterizes academic institutions despite the health and economic conditions makes their scientific foundations stable and flexible at the same time in order to achieve their goals in marketing knowledge, scientific research and community service. It is worth mentioning that the inauguration ceremony was attended by the Governor of Diyala, Mr. Muthanna Al-Tamimi, the President of the University, Dr. Abdul Moneim Abbas Karim and a number of General Directors in the Ministry.
