During a meeting with the Director of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) office in Iraq, Mr. Yonida Jain and his accompanying delegation, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib reviewed the steps of cooperation and partnership in the fields of training and implementation of infrastructure projects for university institutions. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib said that the two sides demonstrated the project to establish the Japanese University in Iraq that the quality of projects offered by JICA for the development of educational aspects, which it contents of Memoranda of Understanding with a number of Iraqi universities, joint academic programs and field for scientific cooperation for development and qualification. His Excellency stressed the Ministry and its institutions’ readiness on proceeding in coordination with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Iraq and forming a ministerial working group to organize the horizons of joint cooperation, obtain fundamental approvals, arrange priorities related to university infrastructure projects and cultural exchange programs and determine the required specializations that can meet the needs of Iraqi labor market. For his part, Mr. Jain expressed his happiness for the meeting, indications of interest in the environment of international cooperation and partnership and identification of goals to be included in the projects and Memoranda of Understanding related to the academic institutions in Iraq.
