During a meeting with the Chargé d'Affairs of the Republic of Ukraine to Iraq, Mr. Alexander Borvzhnikov, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib reviewed developing cooperation aspects between the two sides’ universities and the enhancing the academic relations in the specialized fields. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib also reviewed the Ministry's readiness on moving towards reviewing and amending the signed agreement in the field of education and developing its content to serve the interests of the two countries and the possibility of inking a memorandum of understanding between specialized universities, especially in the fields of medicine, oil and gas and the implementing of academic twinning programs between institutions and in research fellowships. His Excellency said that the two sides agreed to adopt the appropriate scientific contexts determined by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding the procedures of studying in Ukrainian universities and addressing the problems according to a clear roadmap. For his part, Mr. Borvzhnikov expressed the Ukrainian side’s keenness on cooperating at the level of higher education and the developing of services between Iraqi and Ukrainian university institutions via twinning programmes. Mr. Borvzhnikov demonstrated the need to formulate coordination aspects between the two countries via amending and developing the agreement and strengthening joint work among universities of qualitative competences.
