During a meeting with the Spanish Ambassador to Baghdad, Mr. Pedro Martinez, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr.  Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi reviewed developing of scientific relations and academic programs between the two countries.

Dr. Al-Aboudi confirmed on the keenness of Iraq and its universities’ institutions on strengthening productive global partnerships and developing bilateral relations in the fields of Higher Education and Scientific Research with the countries of the European Union, especially the Kingdom of Spain on the scientific and cultural field, achieving positive climates for communication between Iraqi universities and their Spanish counterparts and  benefiting from global experiences in the field  of education systems and modernization, as well as promoting of programs for the exchange of scholarships, expertise and joint scientific research undertaken by the universities of the two countries.

For his part, Mr. Martinez expressed his country's readiness on developing aspects of cooperation, strengthening partnership with Iraqi Higher Education’s institutions according to the goals of sustainable development and in cooperation with relevant international organizations.

Mr. Martinez reviewed the positive indicators achieved in the Iraqi environment of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its openness to attract international experiences and interact with them.
