Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on the obtaining top scores in The Times University Rankings in its new version, which ranked and evaluated one thousand seven hundred and ninety-nine universities from 104 countries around the world for 2023. Higher Education announced on that the Times University Rankings’ website (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2023/world-ranking#!/page/0/length/25/locations/IRQ/sort_by/rank/sort_order/). asc/cols/stats) reviewed that Iraqi universities obtained competitive rankings indicative, represented by eight universities obtained important scores in terms of global competition, as University of Babylon obtained the score (601-800), University of Technology obtained the score (801-1000), University of Anbar obtained the score (1001-1200) and the Universities of Baghdad, Basrah, Kufa, Mosul and Al-Mustansiriyah obtained the score (+1501). Higher Education highlighted that The Times University Rankings adopted main criteria for the ranking of universities based on evaluating and measuring of performance indicators in five aspects; teaching (learning environment) by 30%, research (volume, income and reputation) by 30%, citations (research impact) by 30%, international outlook (staff, students and research) by 7.5% and income Industry (knowledge transfer) by 2.5%. It is worth mentioning that Iraqi universities and colleges obtained their escalating competition in international rankings, including the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, in which the University of Baghdad obtained score within the chemical engineering specialization, and (The Times) ranking in which eight universities obtained the ranking, (QS) ranking in which five universities obtained the ranking and (Scimago) ranking in which twenty-two institutions obtained the ranking, (Greenmetric) ranking in which sixty-six Iraqi universities and colleges obtained the ranking, and a URAP in which four Iraqi universities obtained the ranking, as well as the Webometrics ranking in which eighty-nine Iraqi universities and colleges obtained the ranking.
