Directorate of Materials Research, merged Ministry of Science and Technology conducted a study on the properties of thin membrane properties of multi-aniline and their applications as gas sensors. The study reviewed preparing a thin membrane coating for multi-aniline polymers on the stainless steel alloy (316 L) such as glass and silicon via electrochemical polymerization and chemical deposition of multi-aniline monomers as well as improving corrosion resistance in different environments such as hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide solution in sodium chloride saline solution at certain temperatures. The study highlighted the sensing properties of the polymeric membranes against some gases, corrosion voltage and current, cathode and anode vector inclination, protection efficiency and polarization resistance.
