Iraq, U.S in Academic Cooperation

During a meeting with US Consul of General Affairs to Iraq Mr. John Kincannon and a delegation from IREX International for Culture and Education, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Qusay Al-Suhail reviewed the mechanisms of implementing bilateral agreements for academic exchanging between Iraq and the United States of America. Dr. Al-Suhail said that Iraq is keen on bridging the academic relations with the educational institutions and the international universities of U.S via the activating of memorandums of understanding according to the programs of IREX. His Excellency added that the Ministry is keen on activating the scientific cooperation agreements with the international organizations interested in higher education in order to develop the English language centers in Iraqi universities and hold conferences, workshops and training courses for Iraqi faculty members as well as developing the skills of students to meet the needs of the labor market. Dr. Al-Suhail also reviewed the importance of implementing the inked educational programs according to their timelines. His Excellency highlighted that the two sides reviewed the procedures for activating twinning programs between Iraqi and U.S universities and raising the level of education for university and postgraduate.
