A Ph.D. thesis was discussed in the College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk on the comparison of the addition of methionine and vegetable lysine and the physical form of the feeding and their effect on the productive performance and some blood characteristics and quality characteristics of laying hen eggs by the postgraduate student, Mr. Salah Mahdi Abid. The thesis aimed at identifying the effect of replacing the herbal critical amino acids methionine and lysine instead of synthetic acids and changing the physical shape of the ration from the form of crushed feed to granulated fodder on the nature of production performance, specifications and quality of eggs and some chemical properties of blood, as well as the impact of that on economic cost. The thesis recommended the possibility of replacing the herbal amino acids methionine and lysine instead of the manufactured amino acids in the feeding of local laying hens without having any negative effect on the performance of birds, with the possibility of providing feed in the form of granulated feed instead of crushed feed, because of its positive effects in improving the coefficient of food conversion and reducing the cost of feeding.
