College of Medicine, University of Wasit discussed a master dissertation the molecular detection of bacteria isolated from eye infection in the province by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Muqal Asaad Hussain.
The dissertation aimed at identifying the most widespread bacteria that cause eye infections and constitute a major concern for public health, especially common bacterial infections.
The dissertation recommended the importance of conducting future studies on eye infections in children, especially newborns and preterm infants, as well as studying the existence of a relation between frequent eye infections among residents of rural areas and animal breeders, as well as a more detailed molecular and genetic study of virulence factors for all bacterial species isolated from patients with bacterial eyes, especially those species of bacteria that were isolated in this study.
