College of Engineering Technology-Mosul, Northern Technical University discussed a master dissertation on the effects of gradation of aggregates designed by Bayley's method on the performance of asphalt mixtures, by the postgraduate student, Mr. Imad Daoud Suleiman.
The dissertation aimed at finding an asphalt mixture that can overcome high traffic loads and high temperatures, using this mixture practically in the streets of Nineveh Governorate and this is what has been accomplished by paving streets with an area of (505,742 m2).
The dissertation reviewed that the gradation of aggregate has a significant impact on the overall performance of the bottom mix and that by using the Bayley grading method, good results can be obtained for cladding works.
The dissertation recommended using the Bayley method to design the aggregate gradation of asphalt mixtures and monitoring the efficiency of these mixtures in the long term to indicate the extent of their impact over time.
