College of Education, University of Al-Mustansiriyah organized a symposium on the challenges of the new Corona virus and ways to prevent it, Dean of the College, Dr. Essam Assal Hassan said. Dr. Hassan added that the symposium, in which a number of students, specialists and faculty members participated, reviewed the most important health challenges related to the new corona virus, preventive measures and ways to avoid infection with this virus. Dr. Hassan continued by saying that the college is keen on activating the university’s service role in spreading health and preventive awareness among student, employees and faculty members. Dr. Hassan highlighted that the symposium also reviewed new corona virus, its genetic structure, possession of RNA, which allows it to rapidly replicate within cells, methods of transmission of the virus, symptoms associated with the disease and the plan of treatment as well as the symptoms of the disease and its similarity to normal colds, acute respiratory infection and a significant increasing in body sever with rhinitis go with gonorrhea, severe sneezing and noticeable severe cough. It is worth mentioning that the symposium recommended avoiding contact with live or dead animals, people suffering from acute respiratory diseases, taking care of hand hygiene, giving the body sufficient time to rest daily, avoiding excessive physical exertion and using masks in populated places.
