College of Oil and Gas Engineering, Basrah University of Oil and Gas organized a workshop on the most important oil fields in Iraq and their role in promoting the Iraqi economies. The workshop, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, reviewed that Iraq is leading the oil producing and exporting countries because Iraq contains oil and gas reserves that listed Iraq to be the third country in the world as well as Iraq has compounds of undiscovered hydrocarbons and giant oil fields such as North Rumaila, Majnoon, Zubair and West Qurna oil fields. The workshop highlighted that Iraq contains the most important oil reservoirs such as Al-Zubayr, Al-Mushrif and Al-Yamamah, especially in southern Iraq, where the oils of the southern region are among the high-quality oils and the most desirable in production and sale among the countries of the region.
