Directorate of Environment and Water, merged Ministry of Science and Technology conducted a study on producing of several local bio materials for the dismantling of oil pollutants. The study highlighted preparing of several microbial bio materials consisted of three bacterial isolates that are not contagious and ecofriendly, treating hydrocarbon compounds (oil pollutants) and implementing available inexpensive and safe chemical salt to prolong the duration of the treated vital activity and long period to be used by authorities in treating oil pollutants in the water. The study reviewed the bio materials efficiency of the new microbial materials compared to the foreign product and its ability to self-developing technology to treat oil pollutants for a relatively high storage period for more than a year.
